For some reason I just remembered seeing a Toynbee Tile in Indianapolis about 3 years ago around New Years Eve. I had heard about this somehow over the Internet. While walking one day up in Indi, I saw and snapped a photo. I've misplaced the photo, but this is the one I saw (more posted below). I SOOO forgot that I saw one of these. Very mysterious.

The tiles, of which about 130 are known are caught in a twisted, unrecognizable "conspiracy" behind these tiles. What do they mean? Where do they come from? Who? Why?


Little more is known about what the tile means.

Some Possible Interpretations

The "toynbee" referred to in the text is almost certainly Arnold J. Toynbee, a famous historian (1889-1975). "Kubrick's 2001" probably refers to the movie 2001 by Stanley Kubrick.
