Best 2d graphics I have ever seen in my entire life. I'd even go as far as to say best graphics that I have ever seen, ever.

Summary (for those at work or too lazy to click on links)
Gamespot - 7.6 - The Good: Beautifully detailed artwork; compelling story and interesting characters; item collection and creation system adds a bit of depth to the game; great music and good voice work; lengthy campaign with multiple playable characters.
The Bad: Crippling slowdown kills some of the most exciting moments in the game; frequent load times; excessive inventory management.
1up - 8.5 - good stuff = great presentation and storytelling.
bad stuff = level layout, crappy inventory system, and insane powerup system
IGN - 8.8 - alright, I didn't even read this review.... 3 pages? seriously? I guess I'll give you my impressions instead of IGN's review here. Anyways, I'll just tell you that it's pretty fun so far, I'm only about an hour into it. Amazing graphics and animation, I haven't found the inventory system too cumbersome, mostly because using healing items frivolously is alright because they give you EXP. I'm not too far into the story, but they give you either the Japanese or english language tracks! How awesome is that? Obviously the japanese one comes with subtitles, I can't tell you how the english voice acting is, because I'm playing it on the japanese side. When the girlfriend gets back from China, I'm pretty sure she's going to want to play it because it looks so gorgeous and has a pretty engaging story (so I read in the reviews)... and she prefers the dub over the sub. Anyways, I'm trying to push this game, probably because I think it's going to be Okami all over again... although it is technically a sequel (it's the spiritual #2 to Princess Crown for those knowledgeable in the field of Saturn imports), I think this game is an original IP that is probably going to get looked over.... but I would really like to see games of this quality float over the pacific more often. yarg.....
