Fea and I got married over the weekend! She is now, very unfortunately for her, Mrs. Taumoefolau.

The story of the weekend is a little insane, and I'll recount it later (as well as post some photographs, and maybe video). I will say that it involved both of us getting so sick the night before the wedding that we couldn't make it to our chapel, and had to be married in the little room we were staying in. Fun!

Sick because of illness or nerves? Or alcohol?

He probably had the flu, whereas she had a sudden realization of what she was doing ;)

But really that's awesome guys. Did you go for the 6-7-8 anniversary? I had a wedding for a college friend on Saturday; the best part I thought was the date, heh.

Lots of weddings this past weekend then. I was just in one. It was a crazy good time. To bad it was the same day that Dave Mathews was playing at Busch Stadium.... oh well.

Illness! Really bad gastroenteritis that hit me, Fea, two bridesmaids, Fea's parents, and I think some of our guests. It doesn't seem fair that your body should be capable of vomiting while you're actually occupying the toilet for another reason.

Oh man, I didn't even think of that! Our wedding was on Sunday. If we'd gone for the 6-7-8 anniversary (although it'd be 7/6/8 over here) we'd have been fine, I think. We were in fine health the day before, and mostly recovered the day after. It was just the Sunday that we were completely out to it. (This is how bad we were: 45 minutes before the ceremony, Fea was actually vomiting blood.)

But yeah, the ceremony somehow ended up being really sweet, and we managed to attend a couple of hours of our reception. Lots of sweet, sweet cash for gifts, and got to catch up with a heap of people we haven't seen for ages. Lovely, against all odds!

I just picture the both of you now as chins-covered-in-blood-vomit, big grinning, clutching big bags with dollar signs on them.

Come to think of it, you ought to take a picture of just that! It could make an excellent Christmas card cover.

Food poisoning. I'd bet my next paycheck on it. Was everyone involved at the rehearsal dinner?

Also: congratulations! And remember, shitty experiences make for great stories.

Reasonable assumption, but almost certainly not. Fea's mum and sister were sick in the week prior to the wedding, and Fea's dad's sickness came on the morning of. Only Fea, my sister, and myself developed the thing in the timeframe you'd associate with food poisoning. (Fea would have been a textbook case, out of context: hers came on about five hours after dinner.)

Also, I saw a doctor on Sunday morning and apparently our wedding coincided with a viral epidemic (!!). The thing was going around. I felt a little bit like I was in Raccoon City.

A nation murders the entire population of cows every time somebody even mentions Mad Cow Disease. All of that tasty meat goes to waste.
