To say anything, this event marked a change in history. Nog, the best fighter to fight in the UFC (but those best days are years ago) was finally surpassed. After many battles and comebacks from the brink of defeat he was stunned by Mir and he didn't come back. There's a lot of controversy over the decision of the red to end itbecause Nog was had moved to full guard , but I think it was a good stopage. Mir looked fantastic, and he should credit himself; he's one of the best of all time himself, and before his accident was thought to be the next great heavyweight; he's half a champion, and has to passBrock Lesnar to become #1 in the UFC. Anyway, it's always sad to see an old hero come to the end of his run, but in this case it comes with the rise of a new one.

Despite the end of his years of domination, Nog has a very solid claim to the #2 alltime best. There is no one else even close to taking that for now. Only the living legend (Fedor) is ahead.

Forrest Griffin did a great job, but Rashad was quicker and stronger. When the fight went to the ground rashad was able to ground and pound his way to a championship. At 18 and 0 with a draw to Tito Ortiz and a KO win over Liddel, this guy looks like a real champion.

Rampage, again facing an alltime great past his prime, and managed to KO Wanderlei Silva in what is probably their final fight; a brutal trilogy that saw Wanderlei destroy the younger Rampage twice before.

Great night of torch passing. I hope Rampage and Mir don't squander their momentums.
