<div style='font: 10pt verdana; text-align: left; padding: 0% 10% 0% 10%; '>At this point, Bush knew that not supporting the ammendment was hurting him more than helping him. From recent polls, it unfortunately looks like those that support full gay marriage are pretty safely on the left, and not moderates. Those on the left would never vote for him anyway. And now he can please his core constituency and probably not scare away any moderates.

While a lot may come of this politically, I don't think that much will come of it legally. When the chips are down, most people are reluctant to change the status-quo - and in this case, the status-quo is a Constitution that does not mention marriage. The real legal effects are going to come from the state courts, and maybe even the federal level.</div>

<div style='font: 10pt Arial; text-align: left; '>The amendment, or the proposal for the amendment? Once passed, a constitutional amendment can't be nullified except by another amendment (see Prohibition).</div>

<div style='font: italic bold 14pt ; text-align: center; '>which is kinda funny because even in the flag handbook it says that if the flag is harmed in any way or if it comes in contact with the ground it should be replaced and the only propler way ro get rid of a flag is to burn it.</div>
