So the a judge just fucked over the internet royally. I can no longer access weather.com from AT&T dsl. Did those fucks start filtering already?

Hahaha I doubt it... all the judge really said is that the FCC lacks the authority to penalize a company for not adhering to Net Neutrality. I don't think that necessarily means that NN is dead and unenforceable, it just means we can't rely on the FCC to enforce it. It'll be a while before any company tries to test that theory...

I believe that the ruling puts it back on the ISPs to police themselves. Basically it seems no government entity can tell the providers what they can and cannot do.

So in China, they filter content, in America, they will start filtering content. Where are the conservatives when you need them?

Took the words right out of my mouth. Basically, the FCC does not have the authority to enforce net neutrality.....yet. That certainly doesn't mean that won't change. It will all depend on the public desire to get such a bill pushed through (ie. can it overrule the very rich lobbies.....)

Heh, that's a stretch of logic there. Because AT&T was just waiting for the word to start blocking millions of people from accessing the weather.

But, why? Did they actually build that Weather Dominator, and they don't want people to know the weather it will cause? I thought Comcast was the one working on the Weather Dominator. Fuck, this is confusing. Let me ponder this for a while.

Yes, because P2P traffic shaping leads to content filtering. Exactly the same thing, really. And trying to stop this totally justifies putting in Congressmen who favor big businesses, who were the ones who wanted the traffic shaping in the first place.
