Now that he's leading the NL with 9 complete games, 4 shutouts, and 21 wins, second in strikeouts and WHIP, third in ERA, and helped his team to the best record in the NL, he should be a shoo-in to beat Wainwright for the Cy Young, who's his only close contender IMO. Jiminez was the runaway leader until August but he's REALLY dropped off since

Man pitches a perfect game, only the 20th in MLB history, gets only the second no-hitter in post-season history, and is practically a shoo-in for the Cy in the NL, all in the same year. If the Phillies win the World Series, not only will Halladay have had the most insane season imaginable for a pitcher, it would have to be considered one of the best seasons of any baseball player in the last half century.

He's 131 wins away from 300, I hope to hell he stays healthy enough for the next 5 years to give him a serious chance of getting there. The way he pitches, even when he's in his late 30s and his velocity is down he can still be incredibly effective. He'll just go from being a power-pitching Greg Maddux to just like Maddux. Barring injuries, it's not out of the question he pitches into his early 40s if he wants to.

He has one horrible game where he lets in 4 runs (that's horrible for him) and follows that up by winning the rematch with Lincecum.......while fighting through a groin pull he suffered in the second and allowing only 2 runs through 6:

I hope to hell Philly comes back and makes it to the World Series. Halladay deserves to cap off this year with a ring

I think Lee deserves it more, but the way things are going both best pitchers in the league wont get a ring!

The year Halladay's had and all that he'd done with the Jays and the fact that Lee already has a ring gives the edge to Halladay deserving it.

Looks like the third best will win, though

Who did Lee win with? I dont think he has a ring. Last year with the Phillies they lost.
