Considered they're obviously paired up; that's about 30 times average per athlete so far; and a lot of them aren't even finished their events yet =P
The Olympic Committee has handed out a record 150,000 condoms to the athletes taking part in Sexfest 2012, the London Games, which is 50% more than the 100,000 that were supplied in Beijing in 2008.

That boils down to an ambitious 15 condoms per athlete for the 17-day event.

Clearly this is what the world would be like if we could all be extremely fit and passably attractive. Also no war and less carbon emissions.

Well, I am guessing Magic didn't use condoms =P

Anyway, that wouldn't be such a bad world no matter the economic state of things if we:
A. Eliminated most unhealthiness (eradicating most sickness, finding a solution to hunger/overpop).
B. Solved environmental issues (tied into A, since overpop is a major cause)
C. Ended military conflict (We must be close to this; but then again, we've been close for 1500 years but someone or some fanatical group always has to come along and screw it up).

Then the world will all have a lot more time and energy for sex.
It is the Olympian spirit.

I was just thinking if the entire world was a giant fuckfest their would be less obesity (more time screwing, less time eating) and so less of a draw on scarce resources and no military conflict because everyone capable of fighting would be occupied. We'd all be dead of STDs within the next hundred years. Nevermind. Bad idea.

Don't forget about the inability of the planet to properly sustain even a fraction of the current world's population. Further increasing it not only puts a strain on the environment but also the large social strains that come from increased population densities.

A whole whack of twenty-something at the peak of their physical prime and conditioning put into a small, condensed area end up having sex? Who woulda thunk? Almost as shocking as what occurs in dorms all over college and university campuses....

What I meant is that on a level of civilized development - we've had the means to distribute and develop the poor/oppressed parts of the world through peaceful means, and ending military conflicts may have been a relatively realistic goal; in the absence of fanaticism or demagoguery, there is no reason why we have really needed military conflict for a good long while - yet those forces always pop up. Given a little more thought beyond the Huns a little more than 1500 years ago, there's the Vikings and the Mongols =P Both of whom were probably not within the power of the civilized world to deal with - and both of those invasions caused all sorts of major problems for the Eurasian world.
