I agree!

This is the best forum setup. I'm still willing to mod, though my services have only been needed like, once.

I concur.

I'm beginning to get adjusted. I'm excited to see what Sine is going to add as mods.

And I agree with barring guest posting for now.

I kind of like the new format.

Well, this thread is so long no one is probably going to read this post, but I may as well add my two cents...

I'm not entirely crazy with the whole linear setup - simply because, as others have said, it tends toward looooooong discussions of twelve zillion threads, which encourages skimming or skipping posts to simply get through the freaking thing.

However, it also doesn't result in message titles that get squashed into one-word-per-line monstrosities working their way down the right edge of the page. Also, the short messages that used to pass for NT messages no longer have a character limit on them, and they're easier to edit as well. Plus, if Sine manages to get some of those mods going (not being an overly experienced PHPBB user, I'd be interested to see what some of those are), that should be cool as well. All in all, I think I can deal.

However, I do agree with whoever said that words posted should factor into the stats (especially since I was one of the leaders in words per message, hehe).

I'm excited! The kind of messages we've been posting are obviously not suited to this format - I post on another PHPBB and I never realised how much the software influences the kinds of conversation you have. Our super-long subjects look ridiculous in PHPBB, for example. But I do think it is a nicer format, and PHPBB does some stuff I've wanted out of Sine's board for a long time - like bringing threads with new posts back to the top of the thread list, so discussions never die! Ahahaha! I think we're probably going to have a fuck of a lot less duplicate threads, too.

This is great! Sine, you fuckin' rock!

Yeah, this thread may be 3 pages long, but it doesn't matter since it will just get bumped up and you can see the latest posts. I don't think people will skim the posts on long threads because they should already know what the topic was about from previous reads.

Yes, but what happens when there's two lines of conversation in the same thread? You often have to go back up a few quotes to find out what's going on. Is there a way to fix that?

Yeah, if it gets bad, the admin can split the thread and pick which messages go into the new thread.
