Any good music playing programs (WinAmp seems to blow now)

I don't know what the deal is, but it only plays one song at a time, in order to go on to the next one I have to skip forward and hit play. There doesn't seem to be anything I can do about it, I have gone through every single menu on the program. It started when I began putting MP3's on CD, now it won't go back to ****ing normal!

Anyways, I have always been annoyed by Win Amp, so I really am looking for a superior player, if anyone knows one, please do tell, I'd appreciate it very much =)

EDIT: Better explanation of the problem:

I hit play, it plays ONE song and then stops, it won't play any other songs on the playlist unless I play them manually, one at a time. What I want, is to be able to just hit play and let it play through my whole list; I don't exactly know what the problem is, but I suspect it has something to do with me using MP3 CD's.

I use iTunes. I like the GUI and it has simple filtering options for finding the music you want. And it's pretty simple to create playlists on the fly.

I use that one for my mac, I actually like the program, I'll look for a PC version of it.

Too bad I use Windows 98 for this computer.

I use one that came with my Broadband kit, some MusicMatch Jukebox 10 somethingorother. I like it, but then I havent' used itunes.

That works for Windows 98, thanks, getting it now. Finally I'm going to be free of this annoying WINAMP! =)

i use MusicMatch. It is cool because you can double click a song while exploring and it will add it to the playlist instead of playing that song right away. If the playlist is empty, it will play the first song you double click, but simply add the next double clicked one, thus allowing you to keep adding songs while listening to the ones you already added.

MM also burns really well. It only goes up to 24x speed, but that is the top speed of my burner anyways. I've had very very few coasters using MM's burn. It also rips from CD's with perfection.

hmm, i dont think it takes up anymore space than other players, there is also a mini-mode that makes it super tiny. I call user error on this one ^_^

Or maybe your desktop resolution is 800x600?

I found it quite bloated as well and to make it tinier made you remove a lot of the windows I wanted quicker access to. I haven't used it in a while though. I like iTunes enough to never switch now though.

Also this was a long long time ago. I remember it being pretty buggy too.

I like iTunes, I just hate their equalizer presets. Since I've got an iPod now it has taken over as my primary music player on my machine over Winamp. I liked the media library in Winamp, but as soon as AOL bought it...I've been avoiding it like the plague.

Old Winamp suits me fine. It's simple and pretty much has all I want in an MP3 player. I tried version 5, but I don't like how it shortens my filenames. A lot of my ripped songs are in the format Artist - Album - Track # - Title. Version 5+ shortens that to Artist - Title, even with the MP3 tag disabled. Luckily I still have version 2.80 on my hard drive so I switched back to that.

I upgraded to 5.04 so I can get songs on my iPod through the media library and the ipod plugin. Haven't noticed anything strange with it, though I'd still be using 2.81 if not for that.

I still love classic WinAMP. Using XMMS for Linux, which looks just like it.

Winamp's the best one that I've found. I think that may you are just not l33t enough to handle it.

For example, an l33t d00d would check his settings and fix the only-playing-one-song-at-a-time problem instead of whining about it in this forum.

check your settings (right-click) > Preferences >Options

There's got to be some option in there that's causing this.

Perhaps the wording on Wimamp sucks. Like I said, I have checked everything under every menu, including the box where it says "Play all items on playlist". It's Winamp version 5.06 by the way.
