Has anyone been able to do this successfully? Natsumi got 3 DVD's of a TV show from her parents that are Region 2 discs. She wants to play them on her DVD player an Apex AD-1100w which there is a region free hack for but it entails me buying CD's and guessing if she has the 512KB version of the BIOS or the 1MB version. I've tried Region Free+CSS, DVD Shrink, and DVDIdle Pro. It plays the DVD's on my PC fine but I want to convert her discs to region 1 so she can watch them without me having to hack her BIOS on the other DVD player. I've tried playing them on my DVD player which was really easy to hack but they won't load for some reason. It's a cyberhome CH -DVD 300. I've been to videohelp.com but no dice.

Any help would be great.

Wouldn't it just be easier to buy an all region DVD player?

DVD Shrink is capable of de-regioning a DVD just fine (as long as you pick the right region when it asks). However, it's possible that your DVD player won't play burned DVDs period. Or maybe it won't play DVDs that have been de-regionized. Apex is a good brand for burning DVDs, but I'm not sure about Cyberhome. Check the net on those.

Cyberhome does work I'm pretty sure, I've checked on it and a lot of people have posted what type of DVD's work on them.

Everytime I put the DVD into my DVD-ROM drive DVD Shrink can't see it and gives me an error. I'm running the latest version of it. What else do I need to do?

I unlocked the feature on my cyberhome DVD player but it won't play the DVD's I guess because they are burned. (They are DVD-R's from Japan by Maxwell and they were used to record a Japanese TV show.).
