I caught the first episode of it last night. It looks like this season is going to be infinitely better than the last season. One thing about last year was that Hughes and Franklin were not very good coaches in comparison to Couture and Liddel. This year, from the looks of it, Ortiz and Shamrock will be great coaches.

There are a few differences, there are no longer challenges, instead at the beginning there is a coin toss, and the winner of that picks who fights who. From that point on, the team who wins the fight picks the fighters fort he next fight. Also, unlike previous years, everyone has to fight at least once before anyone fights twice. The first fight happened last night with Shamrock's team winning the coin toss and Shamrock's guy winning the fight.

Speaking of Tito Ortiz, he is fighting Forrest Griffin at the next UFC PPV on the 15th.

Seems like that makes the matches a lot fairer. I think I remember a match where the guy didn't have much time to heal before doing another match.

I thought UF2 was kinda boring. I only saw a few of the matches, but it seemed like because it was a bunch of rookies, there wasn't that much exciting matchs.

I agree with you on part 2; it was unfair, and not very interesting. I found the coaching to be poor (in comparison to the first season) as well. This season Shamrock and Ortiz seem to really know what they're doing. I am not sure how the fighters will turn out this time around; the first season had more experienced fighters (than season 2), and this one appears so far to have more experienced fighters as well.

I don't find the coaching all that great - well, moreso Ken than Tito. I mean, Shamrock has a shitty ground game and he brings in a nutritionalist? Sorry, but what a complete retard.

The only reason Shamrock is in there is for the rivalry - which is great for the show but sucks for the kids.

Oh well, we'll see how it plays out.

Shamrock is also in it as a big name. I've always felt he was very overated (his brother Frank is a much better fighter in my opinion). I find that his fighting style is obsolete in comparison to what they do in MMA now.

I think Arlovski will destroy Sylvia, and I think Ortiz will beat Griffin mainly because he'll be in better shape. But we'll see.

Yeah, I agree with Kupek here: Arlovski should be able to take Sylvia down without too much problem. He's faster and stronger and with better training.

As far as Tito vs. Forrest is concerned. Tito will win it easily. Just the fact that Forrest has the honour of stepping into the octagon with him is enough. There's very little contest here. So if Forrest actually wins, it'd be gigantic.

On the undercard: Nick Diaz is a whiner, I want to see him lose by decision just so he'll whine some more; I can totally see Sherk going over him via submission though. Karo Parisyan is another one to watch out for on the undercard, he's a fighter who is on his way up and I can see him with some title fights in the future. Evan Tanner has been on a losing streak lately, I do think this is the fight to break it, the guy he's up against looks kind of like a jobber; Tanner is a former champion.

The thing with Ortiz is that he's been out for a while. He's far more experienced than Griffin, but Griffin has been fighting regularly. But the only fight I've seen of Griffin, him and the other guy gassed. It was a hell of a fight but Griffin could have been in better shape. Ortiz has always been in phenomenal shape, I've never seen him get near to gassing out. In the end, I think Ortiz will win due to experience and better training.

He hasn't fought any official MMA fights in a year, but I don't think his training has been down; though I can't really be sure on that. It could be like Frank Shamrock who hadn't fought in several years and just mowed right through Cesar Gracie last month just based on the fact that he had kept his training up through teaching.

Forrest we do know has kept his training up. I would lean on the chance that Tito has as well.

Wow, Arlovski lost to a knockout in the first round. Tito and Forrest put on the best fight of the night. Something was really wrong with Tito though, he seemed to be fighting uncharacteristically; though still good, he could have put Forrest out in the first round, he looked great then. He went into the fight with one of his knees requiring surgery, so I suppose that had something to do with things.
