Gas

Is just about over 3.00 here. In another week or a few days it will defenitely be. Reports on the radio say it could possibly get to 4, 5, or even 6 this summer...

Frankly, this doesnt matter to me all that much as i fill up about once a week and dont think an extra 10 or 20 bucks a week (1k for the year) will kill me. I know it is a depleting resource and am willing to pay more for it. Some people in my office, though, are acting like they will be put in the poor house due to this surge.

I live about a mile and a half from the building on campus where my office is. I walk just about everywhere, generally only driving once or twice on the weekends to get things that are out of the way. I fill up on gas about... once every month or two.

It's $3.46 where I live and I just spent $47 filling up my car. I honestly feel bad for SUV people right now.

Anyway, once I woke up following my fainting spell, I decided to go out and shop for horse and buggies next week. Anyone have any Amish friends to give me pointers?

I'm about in Kup's boat. I don't make much, but I also only have to drive about twice or three times a week, working from home. So I haven't felt it much, but I do have to wonder how the true poor in America are getting by - it's got to be a horrendous burden for America's real working poor (as broke as I am, I could really still almost certainly jump into a fairly cushy corporate or development programming job at any time if I decide to give up the entrepreneurial bit, so I don't really count).

I'm just surprised that entire economy isn't sinking like a stone because of it. Gas prices siphon money out of the U.S. like a mother****er.

The price of gas is up here as well. Though I usually only drive when I plan to pick up a lot of groceries, or am going out to an important dinner. Otherwise I walk just about everywhere.

Yeah, it just broke $3 where I'm at too.

Luckily I don't have a car anymore, because filling up the tank would just cost too much.

$1.10+ a litre up here. That's about $4 Cdn a gallon. Stupid.

As long as the bus tickets don't go up I'll be happy

Maybe they should tell those oil companies to turn on a few refinaries.
