70,000KB memory it's using right now. Is this normal?

I've found it to be quite fast and relatively low-footprint. It probably depends somewhat on the page you're viewing as well as, like Tort said, the extensions you may have installed.

I've switched almost completely to Opera now, though. Wholeheartedly recommend it if you'd like to give a new browser a try. It's quite neat.

Heh, I just switched my parents from Netscape 7 to Firefox/Thunderbird with some neat extensions. Speaking of which, I found some cool extensions on this page. The "Tab Preview" extension is very cool.
