Anybody know if the Canada/US gold medal game from Salt Lake City is available on DVD or tape to buy anywhere? I'd like to see that again.

Did the US team dominate 2-3 years? Or even get into medal contention? I would keep an eye on the Czechs though, they have something good put together.

I'm sure it's somewhere on DVD. Check out futureshop.ca or dvdsoon.com and see if it's available.

Yeah, if I'm not mistaken, the Blues are the worst team in the league this year......

Team USA doing well this year? Heh.

Canada demolished Italy, as predicted
Sweden demolished Kazakastan, as predicted
Finland demolished Switzerland, as predicted
Czech's took out Germany fairly well (4-1), as predicted

It really is a shame the US team couldn't even defeat Latvia =P

Considering they had one practice before the game together, it isnt all that surprising. The eastern US storm made a lot of the plyers late. Hockey is a strong team game, and even if all of the players are from the NHL they didnt look comfortable with each other yet.

Switzerland has turned out to be a shock. Another shock was the Czechs getting 4th; last year they got the gold at the World Championships. On paper the Swiss are a weak team, only two NHL players (both goal tenders), but as a team they have a lot more practice together than the others, and that is why they have been playing so well.

I can't wait for Canada vs. Russia later today in the qf.

Finland (A1) vs. US (B4)
Switzerland (A2) vs. Sweden (B3)
Canada (A3) vs. Russia (B2)
Czech Rep. (A4) vs. Slovakia (B1)

Game points so far:

Finland 5-0-0
Slovakia 5-0-0
Russia 4-1-0
Switzerland 2-1-2
Canada 3-2-0
Sweden 3-2-0
Czech Republic 2-3-0
USA 1-3-1

WTF? Canada played like shit that whole tournament. One question, why, and I ask WHY, didn't Crosby play on the olympic team? There's only 2 Canadian players above him in points in the NHL. Seems like a no brainer to me. Well since Canada is down and the US is gone, I guess I'll have to root for the Czech Republic. I think Finland probably has the best chance of winning. But I've never lived in Finland so I better not cheer for them.

It really is to bad that Canada got taken out in the qfs, but at least Sweden made it through. Perhaps this is the year that Sweden will take home their second Olympic gold. Funny how Canada went from winning the gold four years ago to doing the worst they have ever done in the history of Olympic hockey.
