I downloaded it since I have an MSDN subscription through work. I installed an old 40gb Maxtor drive I had lying around and thought it'd be worth trying out.

It's interesting. It looks basically like Windows but with much fancier. There are some pretty cool graphical effects going on. I like that the windows have a semi-transparent look to them, kind of like looking through a shower door, so you can see the windows behind them.

If anyone is interested, I'll post some more thoughts after I play with it for a bit. I was hoping for a more dramatic change away from the current interface of Windows, but I guess they want to stick with what the customer's are used to.

I haven't checked that deeply into it yet. :) But I only installed AIM. I'll probably put on my Sound Card, Video, and Monitor drivers this weekend and maybe install Firefox and some games to see how they run.

What do you mean by "incorporated into it"?

I haven't done anything with CDs or music yet so I don't know what it'll do.

The whole copyright stuff stifling the burning of CDs and DVDs and not able to keep copied / downloaded stuff on your comp. Such as your DVD burners not even being able to rip stuff due to Vista programming. All that stuff they were talking about incorporating into Longhorn before it became Vista
