I blame it on me procrastinating on writing my essay and posting on a forum instead of writing on why Nato is no longer relevant in a world of terrorism. So sorry I fucked with your guys's shit, I'll try to click on the right buttons in the future..... no promises though.
Dude, I totally like you already, post more plz.

So either way, I'm going to say that I am pissed off at the direction that rap has been moving recently. No one seems to come up with a good beat anymore. Not only that, but there seems to be no art to it anymore either, a lot of them don't even try to rhyme anymore; and when they do rhyme and form a beat, it's not even on words that need emphasis.

I'd like to know why your picture of Kain from FF2 (I'm gonna call it 2 because when I bought and played the game it came on a cartridge that said final fantasy 2 on it. If it said final fantasy 4 then I'd call it final fantasy 4...... but it said 2..... not 4) has "deru" by it?..... is that what he was called in the super famicom version?
No, it's just the best 'Nihongifying' of "Drew" that I can manage. My real-life name is Andrew.

Hence the reason why I like white rappers like ICP. Good beats, good rhymes, funny lyrics.

I hope ICP doesn't stand for what I think it stands for, Sine, jesus!
bovine - Common's most recent album is awesome! Bite your tongue! Your other recommendations are good, though.
If you like good beats and clever lyrics, Sine, try Blackalicious, Talib Kweli, Mos Def's first album, MF Doom, Jurassic Five (as Bovine suggested - they're awesome, one of my favourite groups ever)... there's so much good stuff out there, you just need to look in the right place. And there are some quality white rappers (Ugly Duckling represent! Also, a shitload of non-American rappers like the Hilltop Hoods and the Hurd in Australia, and Mike Skinner in the UK) but the bulk of the best stuff is, as ever, black.

Don't get me wrong. Black rappers are starting to get out of their mold of pimping hoes and ego-boosting bullshit. However, it's going to be a while before that sort of thing hits the mainstream to a greater degree. Most anybody ever talks about is 50 "shot in the jaw nine times" Cent and Kayne West.
Good recommendations, Bovine. I'll check them out.

Decent stuff will never hit the mainstream. You've always needed to and will likely always need to dig for the good stuff, and this is the case with pretty much every musical genre.
