The Shrine

1) I get a call this morning that I got an intership in the information systems department at a local hospital. I didn't think I was going to get this position at all because I thought I had totally boched the fucking interview. They were supposed to call me back last friday but they called me this morning so I was completely ready to restart my job hunt this morning when I got the phone call as I was getting dressed.

2) I got confirmation that I am indeed a college graduate.

Well, day one was today and all I did was build my own PC from spare parts, put XP on it and then play pinball, minesweeper and solitare all day since I don't have access to the network yet.

An update...

So I go into work today and I get my security badge which was blue, while everyone else's was white. Seemed a bit odd, but I thought maybe it's because I'm an intern. Anyway, boss stops by my cube and I get my password to the network and the domain. 5 minutes later he tells me to go home because I'm not being paid because his plan was to bypass the HR routine that I'd have to go through by using the old intern's information. This didn't happen and now I had to turn in all of my stuff (badge, pager) and I'm at home now until wednesday and I have to go through the formal HR process. *sigh*.

Boss wanted to bypass HR? Real mgmt integrity there
