<div style='font: 10pt georgia; text-align: left; '>So far, Ive bought a Soyo Dragon Ultra Black Edition mobo, case, 52X CD-rw, cd-rom, case. Im going to hold out and buy the CPU last as prices slowly drop. Newegg has a 120G WD 8mb buffer for $120 right now, and the price is slowly dropping. Cant wait, but its slow going, as I just bought a new laptop ;)

<div style='font: 12pt "Cooper Black"; text-align: left; '>I agree, 1700 is out dated at this point. The Barton is still wayyy cheaper than a P4 and is the fastest Athlon XP out there, it would be a great choice.</div>

<div style='font: 12pt "Cooper Black"; text-align: left; '>i tore apart my old P3 450, got a new case, mobo, XP 1800, DDR Ram, and burner all at a local computer show and sale (man it was cheap, i loved it). With 512 RAM and the 1800 my new bottle neck is my crappy 32mb RIVA TNT2 video card. It works fine with WC3 Diablo2 and Counter0Strike but i know i'll need a slightly better one for Half-Life 2 and Doom 3 which come out soon.

On a side note i recently bought a 128mb flash drive that was on sale for $35. These things are awesome, its the size of my thumb, plugs into a USB port and stores up to about 90 floppies. Plus, it writes fast and is recognized instantly when stuck into a computer that uses XP, ME or win2000 as just an extra drive (so like the F: drive). You need to DL a driver for win 98 but that wasnt a big hassle.</div>

<div style='font: 12pt "Cooper Black"; text-align: left; '>i just read the article, and wow! Granted i dont like to OC (it always makes me feel like i'm going to break something) but that was amazing. Ofcourse much of it had to do with the top of the line MB, and the Barton is like an Athlon 3000 that can be OC'ed, too.</div>

<div style='font: 12pt "Cooper Black"; text-align: left; '>did you read some reviews and make an educated decision or just pick one? I've heard great things about Hitachi's CML174 as far as being a great gaming LCD, its on my wishlist.</div>

<div style='font: 10pt georgia; text-align: left; '>Its not too bad :) I still have to support Sine's crack habit tho ;)</div>

I did quite a bit of research (as in I know I need an LCD) and this LCD is top of the line

<div style='font: 11pt Dominion; text-align: left; '>16ms refresh and 500:1 contrast are top of the line these days and that's a big deal. The 16ms helps a lot with games they say and I've loved using LCD's that were the normal 22ms or whatever. And as for picking Viewsonic they're lovely-- we have 2 of them in the house, one is a 15" LCD, great quality and a good company. I have just now started looking for reviews online and all hail it. The only thing they don't like is the weight (18lbs, still a LOT better than this freakin 60lb behemoth) and the price which with my summer job I don't give a damn as long as it's quality. It also has a digital and 2 analog inputs so that should be sweet as well, not to mention the whole tilt/rotate doohickey everyone's raving about.

Oh, and it's black cause it's gotta match the rest of my PC :)</div>
