Haha, so that's who was fighting at the Plaza. I took my little sister to go see Mariah Carey (pure shit) and walked passed the Plaza on the way to GM place - I wondered what the hell was going on there with the ring built out in the open like that.

1up was trying to get Seanbaby to fight him since he had also criticized him as well. Seanbaby apparently has some boxing experience. That would be interesting

Wiki had this to say:

Boll fought all five contestants, winning every single bout conclusively. The first bout took place on September 5 2006 in Malaga, Spain against Carlos Palencia with the rest of the bouts taking place on September 23 2006 at the Plaza of Nations in Vancouver.

Lowtax made the following post on Somethingawful.com following his match:

Okay I am done drinking, and I'd like to post some more info before I forget it:

1) There was an actual real critic who sparred with Uwe Boll a few nights ago, who was a real amateur boxer. Uwe refused to fight the guy in the ring; obviously he only wanted people with no boxing experience. Anyway, when Uwe was sparring with the dude, the critic / amateur had to quit sparring because Uwe "was taking it too seriously" and really trying to beat the shit out of the guy. So he just said fuck it and left.

2) Apparently when we were in another room, Uwe declared he was going to beat the crap out of all of us and try to "win by knockout." You know, like kinda the OPPOSITE of "this is all a PR stunt we will have fun my movies don't suck" that he was saying before.

3) Like I mentioned before, Uwe said we would get training, boxing equipment, and lessons beforehand. None of us received any of this, which didn't quite worry us at the time since he kept saying it was just a PR stunt and he wasn't really going to box for real for serious blah blah blah. NEVER trust a German. Three of the guys didn't even have cups to protect their balls; the only reason I had a cup was because my wife bought me one.

4) The dude after me [Sneider] was throwing up and had an EMT by his side for about an hour. He eventually had to have an oxygen mask on. The dude after him was all bloodied up and looked like crap. They too made the mistake of believing Uwe Boll when he said it was just a PR thing, since neither really trained.[19]

Lowtax added in a post-match interview that, "Half of us (the contenders) hadn't even seen his movies."

Jeff Sneider shared similar sentiments, stating "I think he's a jerk. This might be PR but I don't want to keep getting punched in the head."[20] Some of the other contestants, however, have not been as negative. Chris Alexander of Rue Morgue claimed that whilst "Nothing will sway my opinion about House of the Dead, Alone in the Dark and BloodRayne.", that he had developed a "sick, twisted admiration for this guy".[21] Alexander referred to the event as "the weirdest pop culture bizarre journalism stunt I've ever been involved in."[20] Chance Minter also praised what he'd seen so far of Boll's upcoming production Seed.[21] Boll praised the contestants in a post fight press conference, stating "I like now the critics... Everybody who was in the ring showed (guts). Nobody dived."[20]

The critics truly are idiots if they thought they would just run around the ring sissy fisting each other for publicity. Sounds like lame ass excuses to me.

Yeah, I doubt he would have fought Seanbaby if he had any real boxing experience.

I haven't actually seen any of his films, so I hold no opinion there. Though I do like this guy as a person, beat those idiots! =)

THAT was awesome! It's interesting to read the excuses of these whiney dorks after the fight for why they looked like spastic retards. Their ability to make bad excuses probably goes a long way towards explaining why they are internet fanboy "critics" and why Uwe, their target, is a multimillionaire director who literally pounds morons like himself in the ring for entertainment...without head protection.

Anyway, this was a great PR event. I wish George Lucas would do something like this. :)

Aside from everything else, the fact that Boll is wearing a Golden Palace top marks him as a fuckin' jerk, IMO.

Well, maybe that's good news about Seed. After 64 tries, maybe he actually get it right. It's too bad that he had to ruin it with the other movies.

But, then again, he always picks the wrong game to try to make a good film out of. The Bloodrayne series sucked ass as a game, so I don't understand why somebody would do a movie on it. House of the Dead? And his next films are Dungeon Siege, Postal, and Far Cry? Why bother?

He collects all of these movie rights for games, but doesn't actually choose the right ones to do. I think the thing that annoys people is the fact that he grabs all of these movie rights for good games, and nobody else can make the movie for them.
