Holy shit I love Wikipedia!

So today I was watching 60 minutes. First was this thing about this American deserter during the Korean war who now lives in North Korea. Guy is pretty much a douche bag a little and a bit of a nut case. But next, the most intriguing segment I've seen in years. It was a about a British Savvant who memorized 20,000 decimal places in Pi and recited them at Oxford. Took him 5 hours. He also was able to learn Icelantic in 7 days. The crazy thing is during the report they were talking about how he sees numbers and how each number has a color to it. Something clicked in my head at that moment and whenever I was learning numbers in a foreign language I don't know why but my head always wanted to associate a color with a specific group of numbers. That's when I heard the name of the affliction or attribute or whatever you want to call it. I believe I may have Synesthesia. It's just remarkable to finally know that what I've been doing for almost as long as I can remember, putting color to music, associating color to periods of time, days, months, certain dates even. I guess it makes me think I'm not the only one who's seeing the same thing when I close my eyes and count to 30. Synesthesia.

So why do I love the Wiki? Cause it explained it and linked a couple of other things I tend to do like Lucid Dreaming. I partook in that just this morning a little bit and it also happened earlier last week.

The crazy thing is, I don't believe anyone else in my family has this, or if they did, they don't talk about it.

Do you do more than just associate a color to numbers? One of the amazing things about that guy - I've heard about him elsewhere, in a show on savants - is that he's able to do complex arithmetic by manipulating the colors and shapes in his head, and then "read" the numbers off what he sees.

No, I can't do that. Or atleast I don't know how to yet. The colors he sees in his head are more pronounced I think than what I see. Where each individual number has a color, a series of numbers will all have the same color to me, or they will fade to one. For instance I see 30 as yellow all the way to number 36. 37 to 40 are dark red with 40 actually being close to brown or black.

Man, that's really weird. I think everybody sees numbers and words in different ways, but I'd never heard of color association before.
