I hear Aus is a hard place to stay in. They kick you out when your work visa expires? What if i wanted to move there...
Andrew, help me out, what kind of options do i have?

All countries kick you out when your work visa expires. That's rather the point.

Not always, only if you are from a third world or poor country do they want you out.

My roommate is from a poor country - Serbia - but he will have Ph.D. when he's done with school. If he doesn't have a job the day after he graduates, he's in violation of his student/work visa and can be kicked out of the country. I know that in the US, you can't just move here; you either need a student/work visa and a contract, or a green card. I'd be surprised if Australia was any different. I doubt anyone would have much difficulty obtaining another work visa (beyond normal bureaucratic retardedness), but I would be surprised if it was not required.

Just move north, Flip, Canada is basically Australia, but cold
.
Australia can be tricky to migrate to, but you're an accountant, right? You might be able to get in as a skilled worker. Check out <a href="

Have you been to Australia? How come you want to move here, if you don't mind me asking?

Andrew's got a point. You gotta know why you're moving before you find a place to move to. Go to a far away country don't mean you've outrun your problems

Yeah, but a change can sometimes be the catalyst you need.
*shrug* It's not that I'm saying it's "the right move", it could be horrible...but at the same time, a fresh start can be psychologically refreshing and motivating - especially if you are going somewhere you always dreamed of anyway.
I considered going to Aus years ago, I remember the work/student visa was really easy to get if you were the right age and had 10k in the bank. But to fully move there? That's pretty hard, you either need a set amount in your bank account or be skilled labor (I think moneywise, a safe estimate for anywhere is the ability to drop 50% down on a home).
If you have any immediate family European ties, you should look at getting your citizenship - it gets you your europass, which is probably the most awesome thing ever.

A friend and I are tossing up ideas of moving out of the states for good life and work experiences. We're young, have both been beaten up in the last year and think it could be something really great. The plan now, however, is to go through one those agencies where they place you in an unskilled job for 4 months. I believe i could take that much time off from work unpaid during the summer. Then it wouldnt be a perm thing.
No, i have never been to AUS, but the weather looks great and i'm sure it is as good a place as any.

Sounds good. 4 months is enough time to get a decent feel for the place for sure. You should try to get placed in either NSW or (preferably) Queensland if you're coming over in your summer. South Australia and Victoria can get pretty miserable in the winter.
