This guy is obviously not real good at policy. If Bush tried to institute a draft right now, I *guarantee* you it would be the biggest American scandal since Watergate.

Kind of interesting to me, as I'm exempt from a draft either way (I applied for the military and was rejected - for the enlisted services, not the officer ranks - back in 2000). But it's frightening to hear the word even brought up in conjuction with Iraq.

Protests would turn into violent protests. Which isn't all a bad idea. They didn't listen to a million people peacefully protesting against Bush's polities, but they certainly listened to:

* LA Riots
* New York Draft Riots
* Black Panthers (at the very least, they were afraid of them)

Funny how the threat of violence suddenly changes everybody's mind.

go to a comic shop and find his new series The Boys......

it's being promoted by hm saying it's going to out preacher preacher....and it has....the most recent arc is about a superhero named tek knight who is essentially batman. he get's jealous after he gets into an orgy with the catwoman analogue and his sidekick laddio. well he's got a problem now with fucking anything that he can fuck...coffe cups, dogs, robots, butlers, you name it he fucks it....quite possibly the most disturbing bok I have ever read....but simon pegg is the PoV character which makes it even funnier

all good sadistically fucked up stuff. pretty much if you put Ennis' name on something that's what it is bound to be. hard boiled, preacher, Hitman, The Magnificent Kev, A man named Kev, The Authority/Kev, THe Boys, Punisher MAX, Hellblazer, Unknown Soldier, The Darkness. I could go on. some of the stuff he is doing right now is just so sadistically fucked up it's a work of genius.

Him and Warren Ellis could get awards for being able to turn any concept on it's head and making it both awesome and sadistic

the miniseries he did with clayton crain a couple years ago is one of the most beautiful things I had ever seen. The one they just finished up this last month about the old west ghost rider as well is amazing....

Sheez. But comics cost money, and I *hate* spending money. In general.

I'm frugal as fuck.
