OK, one of you changed my URL in the Wiki article and another changed Seeker's user rating (ie. Shriner, Newbie) to Mrs. Yamauchi-san. Honestly, I'm shocked you didn't edit a gitch around his avatar... :-)

sine, you've gotta trim up that explanation for why you edited Zeus's url..... it's making the effort to read this thread too great..... scrolling sideways is a nightmare! so much of my hand moving to the mouse and then moving the mouse down to the horizontal scroll bar and then clicking, and dragging the scroll bar across to read a post.... unacceptable.

I seriously concur. That's why I don't want the mod powers - I turned into an asshole when I had them, and I love this place. I'm partially responsible for its existence, for shit's sake, so can't we all just get along?

What the heck is this all about? All I could piece together so far is Sine edited Zeus's post so his URL wasn't causing horizontal scrolling... wtf is so bad about that?

As for what you're talking about, Zeus, I am not aware of any other edits, so there's not much I can say. The extent of what I've done as an admin is to edit one of your long URLs (that I don't think you even noticed) and move a topic per Flip's request.

I noticed the URL change.....you actually replied to me above. But I think we were talking about different ones so I may have missed that older one probably 'cause I usually go to the most recent reply rather than the very top. I had mine changed late last week which led to this thread.

And that wasn't the only thing that has been edited. Like I said, Seek's status was changed to Mrs. Yamauchi-san (doesn't anyone other than Sine or Shellie even have this ability?) and I've also had an imp by Sine (very funny BTW) and one of my other posts deleted within the last couple of days.

I have never once picked on any one admin here. I was only simply pointing the fact that I noticed them. I never even demanded anything be stopped and even had a little fun with it (read my original post in this thread).

But the difference is you can't get all high and mighty saying "deal with the edits, I'm the admin, I decide". We're a small community here it's more of a place where everyone gets their say. Don't forget, I was an admin back when we had the superior forum, I do understand your position. But it still don't mean you can change things as you please....

Use or abuse? I like to think everyone here is mature and smart enough (save maybe Seeker) to know the difference. Frankly, there is a big difference in editing a long URL which is inherently a bug in the board and "abuse". If you had a post deleted as you claim, you should've just mentioned it before - I doubt it was on purpose.

Are my forum titles I give out an abuse? Tougher call. I personally only give out one's I find funny - but not everyone will agree. *shrug*

But at the end of the day, it's simply a fun function of the board I can play with - and I'm amazed we don't all have our own unique titles by now anyway. It doesn't have an effect on the discussions/posting mechanics at tOWS and it's a barely noticable extra.

If someone has a problem with a title they get, they can ask for it to be removed...so in the scheme of things, if someone is really bothered, complaining and calling that "mod abuse", I'll call em 'whiney fucking babies' (especially in Seekers case, he gets the extra adjective "hypocrite") and be completely comfortable that most people would agree with me.
