Weird-ass news day.

Its known... well atleast according to Perez Hilton. There is evidence that it was an atempted suicide.

It's just so weird, one would look at Owen Wilson and think that it would be hard to get more successful than that. Drug comedown, maybe?

EDIT: I was talking to a few more people about it, and it seems like "don't ever assume you know what's going on in someone's life or head" is the appropriate paradigm here. I'm just grateful that, for all the bullshit, brokeness, and career struggles I've had lately, I've been pretty happy and hopeful.

I have just been hearing that he attempted suicide and his brother found him. An almost empty bottle of sleeping pills and slit wrists.

Sad to hear. Love the guy as an actor and I hear he's an all around nice guy. It makes you wonder what can drive someone who's worth tens of millions of dollars and bangs playboy bunnies and models as a matter of course to attempt suicide.

The only explanation is some sort of brain chemical imbalance.

If you try to kill yourself and fail, that means it was a half-hearted effort, and part of you wants to go on living. I have a cousin who attempted suicide, sweet as can be, but when she talks about the feelings going through her mind when she tried to kill herself, it gets really dark, at the same time, she admits that she probably could have taken it a step further and guaranteed death, but she didn't, and doesn't really know why, but is happy that she didn't kill herself said day.

Rule of self-preservation keeps most people from doing anything to endanger their lives, at the same time fear, love, pain can all cause you to ignore it that golden rule. >_>

I always enjoyed Owen Wilson movies too, he brings a good mood to the screen. Which makes it so strange that he would be involved in something like this. He plays a fairly large role in one of my favourite movies, The Life Aquatic.

Then again, the only person I know who has successfully commited suicide before was also one of the most seemingly cheerful people I have ever known (and he did it in such a way that he died almost instantly, it involved a rope and a high place to jump from). All the depressed emo kids who tried it didn't do it in such a way that they would die.

I saw (not met) Owen Wilson at a club once...not sure what he was filming....Wedding Crashers maybe?

Of all the celebs I've ever seen face to face, he looked the most normal and appeared to be a happy and friendly guy. Guess ya just never know.

Always liked the guy, hopefully he gets over this.

Question I have: if you're depressed 'cause you think you're worthless and a fuckup and you try to kill yourself and fail......what do you do then?
