They had that online FPS the army developed a few years back (name escapes me)...so it's nothing new. The military targets game media advertising heavily - and has done so for years.

*shrug*

If those 13 year old kids were having a good time playing Halo 3 at a pseudo-recruiting gathering...who cares? Where were the parents if there being there was really an issue....that's the bigger concern.

Yeah, America's Army. It's not that great. They've been doing it since 2002.

Well, YEAH. I mean, we're kinda desperate for soldiers, y'know. War and all, no draft--we're at the point where one THIRD of our military presence in Iraq is Blackwater USA and other similar companies--and they are CRAZY.

So, I'm all for any sort of subversive recruitment, so long as it avoids getting a draft. God drafts suck. Me no likely forced wartime service and getting shot at.

Getting shot at gives me a rash.

Not to derail the thread - but that reminds me of that leaked blackwater footage from a year or two ago (you know, where they filmed themselves shooting at civilian vehicles and shit)...

Does anyone still have a link to that stuff...? I light of recent news, I'm surprised it hasn't resurfaced.

Excuse me? This news is so old, it's growing mold.

Newsflash: Military using air shows to recruit. They've really stooped low on this one.

The 13 year-olds being allowed to play at these events and listening to the military propoganda? Not exactly the same as releasing America's Army or using games as training tools

Why not? They can't use the church anymore (not for many decades at least) they're utilizing all forms of media possible (which is the effective replacement for the Church).
