Regulated MMA claims its first life

Essentially the fighter shouldn't have passed the medical screening, he was KO'd and went into a coma in late October. He passed away today due to complications.

Now that the sport it more in the public spotlight, expect to hear a lot of this kind of news. Im sure something like this has happened before, but was swept under the carpet.

He was also the first fighter who got put into a lengthy coma in MMA as well. There has been one death in non-regulation MMA, a fighter colapsed after his loss and died. This was in Russia back in the 90s.
