I noticed that... and then I tried it. Stared at my smooshed buddy list and asked why the fuck did I want AIM in Gmail? Signed it off, went back to using the application.
It's nice, but aside from being away from my computer I don't see much need for it.

I'm actually too lazy to remember to run AIM so I like this. It'll let me actually use it in some form again because it'll be on whenever I log into gmail.

Their style of HTML-based IM just doesn't suit me, but it's nice that you have options.

Where I work we have a bunch of guys that can't install software on their PC's so web based AIM works perfect in that situation. There are already other choices, but having it integrated into Gmail makes it less suspicious to their supervisors!

Any other comments about GMail's AIM specifically?
