You can get tickets to the Video Games Live concert in Louisville for July 18. Sine, I know you're into the music and I thought the concert was excellent, a night, light-hearted celebration of the music most of us grew up with. I highly recommend it

Ahh, cool. Tickets are a little pricey, though. How good are these guys?

Musically they're pretty solid. You'll love the piano guy (the one who's on YouTube doin' the Mario Theme blind). And it's a fun time.

It was $60 after all charges for us for decent seats. It's actually not that expensive for a 2+ hour symphony and there is the display and a bit of interaction. It's more of an interactive show than you'd think. By comparison, the Play Symphony was over $100 which is why I didn't go.

I say it's worth it for someone who likes and appreciated VG music. My bud isn't as into it as I am (we both did 7 years of music in school together so he does appreciate symphonic music) but he really enjoyed himself too.

Dude, go. Yeah, it's not cheap, but you have to think of it in terms of an experience, not a product. If it was near me, I wouldn't hesitate. (And it was done near my parents, and had I known about it in advance, I would have driven up for it.)

Okay, I've ordered some tickets. Where did you find out about this anyway?

When Tommy Talarico (sp?) formed this with his partner, they actually had articles online and I think they even mentioned it quickly on ElecPlay. They had the website (www.videogameslive.com) in those articles so I bookmarked it and checked up on occasionally it to see when it was coming here. That's how I found out about the Toronto one.

The other day I was flipping through my bookmarks and saw it there. So I decided to just check to see if it was coming here again. On the front page was a "newsflash" about how tickets were going on sale in Louisville. So I gave you guys that link.

Incidentally, they're actually coming to my hometown of Kitchener, Ontario on March 13, 2009. I may go again. Guess Elton John coming here on Monday put us on the map

(on a side note, I went to that Elton John concert...holy fuck what a performer. That guy was amazing, he put on a top quality show. I like him and all but don't know a huge number of his songs, just the top 5 or 6 you hear all the time. But he's easily one of the best performers I've ever see, it was amazing. And the guy did about 30 songs in 2 1/2 hours with his most energetic song - Benny and the Jets - left 'til the end. Just unreal)
