At bit too little, too late. Though, at least it's something. I'm still waiting for Apollo to start releasing their diamonds to the public. You can already get a Genesis yellow diamond, though.

God I hope DeBeers gets molested in unspeakable ways. They've been one of the worst monopolies for a long, LOOONG fucking time.

They're only a century and a half late I suppose.



Just a note of interest, CS Lewis and JRR Tolkien both considered Cecil Rhodes to be among the most evil people in history. It has been speculated that Saruman is largely based off of Rhodes (Tolkien lived in South Africa), and CS Lewis's character Weston from the Cosmic Trilogy. CS Lewis mentions evil people in British history and uses two names: one Modred (the evil son of King Arthur who brought ruin the England) and the other Cecil Rhodes.

Everybody wants to be a monopoly, but nobody likes a monopoly. I hope the girl I end up with is practical enough to see through the DeBeers monopoly and their artificially created value of diamonds as jewelry. I'll buy her a decent gold band and put a down payment on a car or something for her with what I saved.

We have matching titanium bands. I wanted to go Gemesis, but even their yellow diamonds are expensive. (Despite being a fifth of the price of DeBeers' yellow diamonds.) When Apollo starts selling their diamonds, I might buy some of those, if nothing else to show my support.
