Microsoft is still supporting XP? I thought you're supposed to immediately jump on the Vista bandwagon the day it comes out.

Too many companies won't migrate to Vista.

Why do you think my company is paying for me to get my 2003 MCSE?

Ahh Sine... I thought you'd know AT LEAST this shit. Home support != Business support.

Windows 2000 is even still supported for businesses but good luck trying to get support for it at home. Thank god too cause my company is still probably at least 40% Windows 2k.

Technically Microsoft claimed that May-July would be when they stopped selling Windows XP all together and then Dec would mark the end of home support for XP... that ain't happening. XP SP3 will most likely be used as an excuse to extend the life cycle another year or so.

2000 support is cut off for business I thought? We've had customers call us wanting 2000 servers rebuilt and we've told them that the support is no longer there so we just rebuild using 2003 after some convincing.

I guess it is still there if you pay a SHIT ton of money.

Well, I was halfway joking. It's just with all of this push to "buy Vista, buy Vista, buy Vista", they come out with a SP3 for XP.

Finally, a sane, good business-sense decision by M$

Eh, SP3 for XP was announced the same time as SP1 for Vista.

I believe that Windows SERVER 2000 has been EoL'ed for a while... we actually have quite few of them around anymore. Windows 2000 SP4 for workstations, however, I believe is still supported for businesses but probably not for long
