My girlfriend is awesome

so it wasn't my four year anniversary with the girlfriend on the just past-friday. We are officially four year-ers on the 25th. However the girlfriend surprised me with a special day (May 9th) that she only told me that I should book off from work. I followed her instructions (given many months previous) and when the day rolled around, I was not particularly excited. I didn't know the significance of the day or had any real reason to be excited as I need something to be excited for (I hate surprises). Well, she comes and picks me up in the early afternoon and tells me to pack an overnight bag. I do so and begin to try to anticipate the incoming surprise. Since the bag was simply intended for one night, we couldn't have been going too far. Saskatoon or Moose Jaw were the likely suspects. Moose Jaw has a spa (of some acclaim, apparently), and her sister lives in Saskatoon, so I was pretty sure we were going to Saskatoon.... but why?

As we are driving to exit the city I am not particularly excited as I still am in the dark of the events to proceed. She however, is appearing as WILDLY excited. She couldn't hold in her excitement any longer and reveals that we are going to Saskatoon to see the Tokyo Police Club. I was quite pleased at this turn of events, as I really, really, really, really like this band. I was happy, but not yet excited. Anyway, to stop this post from being crazy long so you guys (who don't really care too much to start with) might actually read it.
We travelled to Saskatoon, I napped a little and snored, but the show was amazing. I was so excited and bought so much crap that they even gave me free stuff because I was so excited at the merch table (and I know that's how these guys actually make their money and I want to ACTUALLY help them). The Yeah Yeah Yeahs, Interpol, and the Tokyo Police Club were the only bands I really wanted to see since a Modest Mouse show went a little sour for my girlfriend.... so I would prefer to keep my live shows to a minimum. Anyways, this girl is awesome and I hope you guys have such stand up gals. Fea and Seraphina, you seem like awesome girlfriends (videogames and all), but my girlfriend is pretty superawesomeamazing. And she could probably take all of yous at Dr.Mario.

I did the same thing at the merch table for the DJ Shadow + Cut Chemist show I attended recently. "GIVE ME TWO OF EVERYTHING!" Sadly I did not get free stuff :(.

Sounds like you got one hell of a gal there Bove. She planned this months in advance? That's just awesome... where do I find me someone like that?

I'm really happy for my Pollstar account. Because of it, I am now going to four shows this year:

Radiohead (this week!)
Coldplay (in July)
Video Games Live (okay, that was more Zeus than anything else)
NIN (end of August)

A lot of good concerts that I didn't miss or hear from my co-workers:

"Man, that was a great concert last night!"
"Which one?"
"[Band X]"
"Fuck! I wanted to see them! WTF?!?"

Not at a club, that's for sure. I'd say stay away from city girls too, they tend to expect far too much

Yup. One I don't think I'm up to at the moment. I'm a terrible girlfriend right now. At the moment I mostly come home, sleep, wake up for dinner and go back to sleep. Oh, and every once in a while I'll throw up into a bucket which Andrew (being the best boyfriend in the world) then empties for me.

Pregnancy is a bitch. 6 months to go.

Bolded word above gives you a free pass on all that preceded it in that post... and everything and anything you do for the next 6 months.

He's not the best boyfriend in the world, until he holds your hair back.
