What a douchebag; I agree they're all sad idiots waiting in line for an overly expensive phone but this guy is just a jackass. "Have you ever seen a woman naked?"

You could tell that the other reporters didn't want him to go that far. Of course, if this was Triumph the Insult Dog saying the exact same thing, you would be posting this link and talking about how funny it was.

Good job, iPhone line man. "This is journalism to you?"

Also for what it is I think the iPhone is pretty reasonably priced. I'll be paying about $170 for it over the life of my contract.

It used to be $600. Was that too much for a phone, or do we live in Bizarro World were an improved version of a phone costs a 1/4th of the price of the old one?

I think the difference between this guy and Triumph is that this guy came off as a self-righteous jerk. Everyone knows Triumph is just kidding around and that it's supposed to be comedy. Plus, it's a guy using a dog puppet...it's hard to take it too seriously.

This guy just seemed like (to borrow the word from the man in line) a jackass. I kind of wish the other guy had popped him in his nose.

No, it's the real world where technology drops in price as time goes forward.

See? This. This is what is wrong with journalism today. This is some shitty local station trying to make entertainment more than news. Its stupid, its immature, and above all, it violates basic journalistic tenets. That guy--the reporter--should NEVER be expressing his own opinion, and especially not in such a manner. There are things like respect and unbiased thinking that need to be adhered to.

CNN has been Entertainment rather than news since Iraq War 1.

When are we going to reach that television epiphany point where all the execs realize that the ratings system is total bullshit and that they shouldn't pander to it?

Uh, what exactly are you arguing here? The new iPhone is an improvement on the last one, and it does cost less than the original did at launch.

I agree that $600 is a lot to spend on a phone, but I wouldn't have felt ripped off if I'd bought the original. It's a really neat device.

I use my phone, for something, everday. There are not a lot of purchases or gadgets that you can say that about which makes the reportes "ITS JUST A PHONE!!!" comment utterly ridiculous when it is an important item.

Did people feel ripped off for spending thousands of dollars on a 486 PC when a year later there were Pentiums for a quarter of the price?

Eh Triumph would have had better material... maybe asking the guy at the head of the line how long he had to suck Steve Jobs's dick to get that place or how much being able to use a phone without buttons is worth to them.

The journalisms jokes were horrible and just insulting

Ummm...yeah. If you spent thousands of dollars on a PC, you've been ripped off.

Yeah, but can you imagine a real newsman trying to say that? That would be an instant firing.

Triumph isn't a newsman...he's a comedian (well, the guy holding the puppet is). This guy was a reporter. He wasn't funny. He wasn't witty. He got owned by the guy in line and didn't even have a good comeback.

Do I really need to spell out for you how a News show and a Late Night Talk Show are different, at least as far as what they're allowed to do/say? ;)
