Two family members of the US Men's Vollyball Team's Coach were attacked last night in China along with their interpreter. The father of the coach has been killed, the mother seriously injured. Attacker then commited suicide.

I am wondering how moronic a person has to be to feel the need to do that. If protesters are going to protest something, protest something in their own society, not one they don't even understand or know anything about.

Man, you guys ain't talkin' about Phelps? He's probably gonna be the most dominant single Olympic performer ever and for the next 100 years at the rate he's going. 11 Gold lifetime already (he's 23), 5 Golds and 5 World Records this year (fuck that, this week) alone.

Fuck Michael, Barry, Roger, or Tiger, there's nothing even close in dominance to what Phelps is doing right now.

Yeah, Phelps is just doing amazing. I watched a little clip on his daily eating habits and it is just insane. It's something like 10,000 calories a day. He starts off with breakfast and eats 3 egg sandwiches, hash browns, pancakes, waffles, all in one sitting.

There's not much to say: Phelps is beating everyone. I saw the 800m relay last night, and the lead he gave the Americans was staggering.

Canada is last place at the Summer Olympics, even Kazahkstan and Uzbekistan are beating us!

Probably 'cause they have better funding :-)

Jim Rome on the radio was joking about that. Canada calls us a fat and ignorant country... but we're winners. Way to go Canada with your zippy medals.

You may be winners...when it comes to sports. And to actually having a sense of community in general.

Up here, it's a dog-eat-dog world and we're all wearing milkbone underwear. There's no such thing as a "community" and no real identity, by city, province, or country. Our athletes have to struggle to go to the Olympics, it's pretty sad

I don't think the fact that a country is full of fat and ignorant people necessarilly means that they don't have some top swimmers as well.

As for Canada..... At least we're nice people =)
