You've got it all wrong Sine-- she's got 1.5 years as governor and THREE years as mayor of a town of 5000! I watched this argument go back and forth on Fark yesterday when the news broke

"McCain's best argument against Obama was his lack of experience... so he chose a running mate with less?? She's been governor for a year!"
"VPILF has 1.5 years executive experience which makes her much more qualified than Obama"
"Then that makes her more qualified than McCain too ya dipshit..."

It's an interesting choice... at the least it causes quite a stir and not something I expected from grampa

And it gets McCain's name out there again too. He's been sitting there while Obama has gotten a TON of positive press.

That'll only last so long... right now it's all "Omg who's this hot librarian he picked??" Later it'll be "er..Why is she currently under investigation for firing a state trooper that broke up with her sister?" and "Do we want someone who was put on the ticket purely because of her looks and gender to be one heart attack/stroke away from being president?"

LOL. I think that second part may end up hurting him in the end with the staunch conservative business owner. At the end of the day, they don't want a woman president and like you said, she'd be one heart attack away with what would be the oldest president ever voted into office.

I think it's amazing that McCain managed to find somebody even more attractive than Obama. She's already "flip-flopped" herself with a quote about her not supporting the Bridge to Nowhere, even though she did support it initially.

Also, something I found on Wikipedia: "According to Politico, constitutional scholars were 'stunned' by her pick, saying that she was the least experienced and credentialed candidate to join a major-party ticket in modern history. The last vice presidential candidate with less experience was John W. Kern, the Democratic VP candidate in 1908."

I love this soap opera. Obama chooses a McCain clone while McCain chooses an Obama. From an indy point of view, i think she will help McCain more so than the old guy will for Obama.

Obama should have chosen Richardson. Oh well. I don't really have a problem with Biden. I have a problem with the other two.

The good news is that Biden agrees with most of the issues Obama does, and he's intelligent. I'm not sure how this VPILF will hold up with intelligent conversation. She's already kneedeep in double-talk, though.
