For fuck's sake, I'm really sick of living in Louisiana. I moved from New Orleans to Baton Rouge for Katrina, and now this hurricane knocked out power all over the state. My home in BR STILL doesn't have power. Luckily my mom works for the City of New Orleans, so ironically, we left Baton Rouge and came back to New Orleans to stay in a hotel until Sunday(After I sat in a house with no AC and darkness for 3 days), when hopefully, power will be back there, or here in New Orleans at my grandmother's house.
I'm moving to Canada.

(I split this from the hurricane one.)
I was wondering what this hurricane did to you. How long have you been out of it?

Monday morning around 7-8AM power went out. High winds, lots of rain. No damage to my house, though a tree leveled the roof of my next door neighbor. We stayed until Thursday until we couldn't take the heat anymore and came to New Orleans, my mom works for the city so she was able to help us find a hotel, which I'm online to bitch to all you guys about how I hate hurricanes.

Major tree and house damage in Louisville. Over 60% of the city doesn't have power. Got about 50MPH winds over a 6 hour period.
Not nearly as deadly as the hardest hit areas down South, but just goes to show how far reaching this hurricane has hit.

Our neighborhood is one of the lucky few to have power right now. There are still several people without power and theyre saying if you dont have power now, it may be a week or even 2 before everyone gets it back. Our NOC (where Sine works) is running on a gas generator, and he's been working from home.
We've seen trees on houses, lines down everywhere...businesses without power, etc. Sine's parents had a tree come through and take out their bay window in the dining room, and some roof damage.
We only lost some siding and a support pillar in the front of our house. We recently cut down the 10 very old and mostly dead trees that were in our yard...we believe that this storm would have toppled a lot of them, probably on the house...
