An interesting article comparing the four top browsers on the market currently. Of course, Google Crome will be in competition soon.

So far their opinion is that there is no clear winner or loser at this point among the 4 in terms of quality. In terms of market share, IE has a commanding lead at ~85%.

85%.....sounds like the approximate % the masses (as opposed to the "hardcores") make up of the market.

That makes sense. IE is the only browser that comes pre-installed on with Windows. Most users have no idea that it's a turd and use it without even thinking about another browser.

Their option is crap. They just take fanboys' options and try to guess which one is the best. No sane person can say that IE is better than any of the rest. And Firefox wins out on extensions alone. Opera is behind the times. Safari would be about the only one to come closer to Firefox.

Chrome has not been that well received, either. Like 50% of Google's apps they pump out, i wouldnt be surprised if it stays in beta forever, then forgotten.

Big buzz about it the first week, and now nothing.

I've yet to meet a Mac owner who actually LIKED Safari; they've all just downloaded Firefox instead. And as much as there is hate for IE7, it's actually not a BAD browser, just not a great browser; it's a decent browser for anyone with just basic surfing needs.

You think Opera is behind the times? Interesting...

Anyway, here is another site discussing browsers: http://firefoxopera.com/

"Matrix" Seek? Are you kidding me? At the end of the day it don't matter what name you choose, you're still Seeker and will be referred to as such. Those of us who haven't changed our names in a decade can't really start to now.

SHRINE HISTORY LESSON!!!!!!!!!!!!

Before The Shrine was running on php, it ran on Sine's RPGBoard(?) script. In October, we would often change our names, sigs, avatars as a sort of masquerade. Then we'd try and guess who was who.

Fuck we're old.

Were? We've done it since we moved to this format. I don't remember doing it last year but we did it at least a few years ago.

It hasn't been the same as the first couple of times though. I don't think it has anything to do with the format. Most of us just weren't into it enough.

You should probably change your avatar and colours too. Otherwise you're just putting a different hat on

If I don't have a browser compatibility problem with IE (which happens often), then I usually find one with Opera. Granted, IE still has the most, and it pisses me off the most, but there are certain things about the browser itself that annoying me.

It just never struck me as professionally written. I'd have to download it again to relearn what I don't like about it.

Opera has come a long way in the past year. It is still by far the fastest though; but Chrome looks like it's going to come close. I started using it recently and I find it feels more advanced than IE/Firefox. Of course, I don't use the internet that intensely, I just use it for work and game news.
