Judging from current forum numbers, I may close down three of the forums: Online GT, Animetion, and Sports. Any opinions?

Now this is over the course of almost 3 years, so the actual current numbers are probably lower. This is pretty sad news, as it's a sign of the tOWS going into a downward spiral of depression, but as a whole, I think it would help out the message population of the other forums.
It's a shame that this long-standing MB community has hit its low-point "over-the-hill" stages. However, I don't really have a reason why. Maybe places like this are no longer needed, since there are gaming sites with their own forums, and places like GameFAQs to answer your questions. (After all, did everybody come here because of a gameplay question for Wild ARMs or the like?)
I really dunno, but I'll still hold and maintain this site no matter what the popularity. This place almost reminds me of the Mana Tree House in its last days....</div>

<div style='font: italic bold 14pt ; text-align: center; '>this place is enjoyable. I've been here for so long I've begun to think of the people here as friends, even seek and g-man. even the guys that don't post anymore like wolfsamurai and mental I still talk to. but keep sports. it's coming up on athletic season so the volume will jump in there</div>

<div style='font: italic bold 14pt ; text-align: center; '>replace animetion with "Books and Animetion and you solve that. plus I'd be posting here a ton if it involved books too</div>

<div style='font: italic bold 14pt ; text-align: center; '>or even better since books are a form of entertainment you can just have a music movies + books forum and since animetion is pretty much movies you can remove that and combine it into music and movies and books. just call it the entrtainment forum</div>

<div style='font: 11pt ; text-align: left; '>You can combine Online GT & GT, that's no problem, if you don't bitch about us posting sports in DS that's also kudos. :P You can eliminate Animation, I'll just post anime stuff in M&M.</div>

<div style='font: 9pt ; text-align: left; '>definitely no problem merging GT with OGT, M&M with Animation, i'd probably leave sports.</div>
Maybe because some of the posters are finding problem contributing to some of the threads ?

<div style='font: 10pt ; text-align: left; '>At least that's how I'm feeling. Heck, it has been over 2 years since I sold away my PS2 since I didn't have much time to play it and as a result, most of the thread in gamethought are a big question mark to me.
I still browse the shrine pretty much everyday but I find very little topic that I can comment about and so, I don't post much at all.
Most of the posters who were active then were around my age and I believe they are encountering the same situation as me, i.e. busy juggling work/life/school now and don't have the time in the past to play tons of games/surf net and thus can't associate with the threads being posted.
Three years ago, we were a bunch of immature teenagers who have time to go crazy, now we are transiting into being responsible adults who are trying to find time to do something they like before they go crazy from stress.
We really need new people to post on the board, but because we did not actively seek out for new posters since the beginning, our community has become a tight clique and new comers have problem blending it and after a while, they stop making any new post.
A good example will be your argument with G-man. People who are not familiar with this place will not realize that it is just a harmless little bickering that occurs every now and then. They will see it as an arrogant powerless moderator arguing with an annoying poster and assume this place is not being well moderated.
Don’t kill me, that’s just how I’m viewing this situation. I'm not trying to throw any accusation or made snide remarks at anyone but that's how the shrine might appear to potential posters and that keeps them off from posting. IMO, unless we make this place a bit more newbie friendly, it will be hard to attract and keep posters both in terms of the board general attitude and the presentation of the site. If I was a new poster and I saw the main message board selection page, I would be too confuse to even post.
We do have interesting threads poping up an a frequent pace, just not enough posters to maintain the discussion alive long enough.</div>

<div style='font: 10pt "EngraversGothic BT", "Copperplate Gothic Light", "Century Gothic"; text-align: left; '>Yeah, that could be a possibility. Some people also might think this type of MB format is too old-fashioned, and go off in search of a "newer" one.</div>

<div style='font: 9pt ; text-align: left; '>Animation should be able to go to M&M without much of an impact, same with OGT to GT, since we don't get too many posts in GT like we used to, and Sports to DS is fine</div>

<div style='font: 9pt ; text-align: left; '>True, but the place also needs to have a certain look and setup so that not any 10 year-old (physically or mentally) can just come here and post, otherwise, its chaos</div>
