MCSA!

Passed my 70-228 exam last week which means I'm now officially an MCSA! I had been an MCSA for awhile but I never put in the paper work for my A+ and Net+ to be recognized by M$.

Now I've got 3 more tests to get my MCSE. Also I hope to be Citrix XenApp 5.0 certified in June (I get to go to class in late June then I'll schedule my exam for right after I take the class).

Once I'm an MCSE and Citrix Certified then I need to take the upgrade exams for my MCITP Enterprise administrator certification. Basically this covers all the Server 2008 and Vista component stuff. I'd like to think though I'm a 1/3rd of the way through thus far.

Your post made me vomit with confusion. Congrats, though!

Will your work bump your salary when you finish those?

Not even a MSCE? Pssh!

Of course, I can't say much. I have a CCNA, but I hear that they've increased the difficulty on the MSCE in the last ten years, anyway. It used to be that you could throw a tennis ball in a crowd and randomly hit the head of a MSCE easily.

I hope but no promises. From what I'm hearing from people who have been here a pretty long time is that the only way to get a raise is to leave and come back, but here's hoping.

Whatever the difference between a System Administrator and a Systems Engineer is. I guess I'm to the point where I can actually administer Microsoft servers (though I've been doing it for about 3 years now) and the other portion is that I can actually design and support the environments they are created in.

Yeah I remember hearing that also. 2000 MCSE was a huge step in the right direction apparently. 2003 is the same. I had to take one of the 2000 tests for my SQL elective and man it was a bitch.

I can never convince myself to go after Microsoft certs. A bit of elitism maybe, but I just don't want them teaching me any bad habits.
