Oh, derail, but why the hell did Phoenix think Edgeworth was dead in the second game? There's this whole "OMG Edgeworth (usually not named) died tragically I don't wanna talk about it waaaah" going on, and it's like "I know he's not dead, so why are they bothering?" going on with me.
So what happened at the end of Ace Attorney 1 to make Phoenix think he'd died?
