Did it work or did the kids go back multiple times to settle their disputes?

Apparently I'm the only one shocked by this? This isn't even, like, Lubbock, or Laredo, or some scary-ass Resident-Evil looking village out in the middle of buttfuck nowhere. This is Dallas! The faculty was dealing with troubled students by LOCKING THEM IN A STEEL CAGE AND HAVING THEM FIGHT TO ENTERTAIN THE STAFF.
I want to move out of my country...

Shocked might be too strong for my reaction, but yeah, it's bad. Since that's the only comment I have, I don't see the point in saying anything.

I just don't think "bad" is the right word. How do you even get here if you're a school administrator? At what point do you go "our disciplinary problems are so bad that we should throw our students into a steel cage until one beats the other unconscious"?

I would add a Texas joke about this but I figured that was too obvious.

I'm starting to think Texas may be the joke. But I can't remember if we have any decent, sane, non-barbaric Texans here and I don't want to offend, and besides which, I expect it's like anywhere, a lot of people are really good and decent and then you have people like this principal and this coach fucking it up for everyone else. But I can't remember ever being more ill at ease about reading a news story than this one.
A friend of mine on Facebook who is from Texas responded with "Oh, it's Dallas. You expect that crap to come out of Dallas." Obviously I'm not familiar with local Texan attitudes and practices.

Well, Texas nearly executes as many people as all the rest of the country combined. I wouldn't really consider Texas to be the same culture as a lot of other states; like California.

I'm still curious if it worked. It may be shocking but it could also be effective
