Yellow Jackets

The WORST pests in my town by far. They accost me at every intersection at the downtown area. They hover around, sometimes 1, sometimes 5 or 6, getting closer and closer until they land on you and start biting. If you do anything to make them nervous, they will sting you. These things are ALWAYS angry. They are highly aggressive, much much more so than your typical wasp, hornet, or bee. They are also incredibly common around here with no real natural predators.

They are usually very rare to spot in the spring and early half of the summer, but see a surge in population from mid august onward until they peak in September and October. October is the worst because then they're suicidal aggressive.

Does anyone else have a problem with Yellow Jackets in their area? I think these things are worse than flies, roaches, mosquitos, and fruitflies combined.

Note: I am someone who likes animals, I won't kill anything unless it is attacking me in some way (like a mosquito biting me).

No yellow jackets, but we have a serious problem with MOSQUITOES. It gets really really bad in the summer, to where you cant even walk to your car from the house without getting bitten. Our area of town is especially bad because it's a bit wetter here than other parts, but because Louisville is on the river, you cant avoid it.

Well, having the worse flood in many decades doesn't help with the mosquitoes.

My pest is rats. I see them outside the rowhome i rent all the time, but luckily (after a little over a year living in the city) have yet to see one inside. The bugs arent that bad and the mosquitoes are at a normal level.
