TVersity help: getting it to work on the PS3

So I'm having a weird issue that I can't figure out how to fix and doesn't seem that anyone else has run into this one as well. Hoping you guys have some ideas.
First off: TVersity is working great with the 360, no issues there. So I know that my port forwarding and firewall exceptions are set up correctly. The issue is that the PS3, when I can get it to work, seems to be better with most media types than the 360. Also can handle fast-forwarding, etc., with stuff like .flv much better. So I'd prefer to use it with the PS3 if at all possible. Will also save me from over-using the far more fragile 360.
The issue I'm having is this: the PS3 will only recognize TVersity one time without a shutdown and restart of the program on my PC. So, if I exit TVersity and restart it, I can go over to my PS3, turn it on, and it will instantly recognize the media server. I watched a 2-hour movie on it yesterday after doing this no prob. However, if I turn my PS3 off and turn it back on without resetting TVersity first, it won't recognize it anymore. I can't for the life of me figure out what the heck is going on here and I can't find anyone else who has this issue.
The closest thing to a solution I found is this posts in the TVersity forums.

Problem is, that involves a 2-hour, start-from-scratch-without-guarantee-of-working endeavour. I'd rather find out WHY it's happening and see if I can fix that before re-doing EVERYTHING.
