And I thought the police over here were untrustworthy.

There's a lot of debate going on in my family over this, since they're from Clay County originally. It's an extremely rural part of Kentucky. The true hills of Kentucky. I think they even knew this guy.

It's just so screwed up.
My condolences to your family and the whole region.
"Kentucky police say that census worker Bill Sparkman, whose body was discovered naked and hanging from a tree in a rural cemetery Sept. 12 with the word “Fed” scrawled across his chest, committed suicide."
I mean, Jesus, I read that sentence and then stopped reading. I had to force myself to read the rest just so I don't look like a fool discussing it, but I didn't read anything that changed the impact of that first paragraph in my mind. Does anybody really think this is what happened?

Personally, I just hope it wasn't a cop or relative or friend of one that did this. It would surprise me not in the least, having been in a "youth home" at one point that was credibly accused of using the proprietor's relationship as wife of a Redlands, CA police officer to hide suicides of young people that occurred there from the blotter. I sure believe it, given that place, and I most definitely trust the official report here about as far as I can pick up and throw a corrupt cop.

Apparently, he took two very large insurance policies in April. I didn't believe the suicide thing at first either, but that detail was very telling.

Huh.
Yeah, that does lend a bit of doubt regarding it all, then...
Man, that's an involved suicide plan if so.
I'll just stay out of it.
