Conan O'Brien vs Jay Leno

Surprised we've not brought up this discussion yet...
Personally I think NBC fucked over Conan royally and its upsetting that Jay Leno can not be a bigger man and just bow out and let Conan have the Tonight show like he agreed to 6 years ago.
Maybe Fox will indeed snag him... but they have a bad track record with late night programming.

I like Conan's show a lot, i think it is much funnier. Leno is a whiny little beotch. Maybe NBC forced him to retire too early, but still, just go away...

This is how I feel about Jay Leno
Fuck him! Conan worked his ass off to get that contract, and Jay fucks him over. Nobody was watching his show BECAUSE HE'S NOT FUCKING FUNNY! That's typically how ratings work.

I don't even watch late night shows anymore and I'm with Coco on this... so freakin stupid of NBC to pull this shit. Sounds like FOX is going to scoop him up if he does quit, though, so it's not like he'll disappear from TV.

Ya'll know that Leno actually had Conan as his last guest when he relinquished the Tonight Show, right? It's not like Leno hates the guy, it's NBC that's trying to have their cake and eat it too

Does anyone here actually watch either show?

I watch Conan on occasion. I do not watch Leno or Letterman at all. From what I hear Leno is actually a nice guy and this is more NBC's doing. But I do think Leno should have told NBC to screw themselves, too.

Of course he's not going to do that. He's the one that needs rescuing from the 10PM slot. If it wasn't going to work out at NBC, he's not going to get another job elsewhere, at least not with late night comedy. Why hire a guy that gets bad ratings?

I watch Conan and Letterman. Letterman is still my favorite.

I've always very much enjoyed both Leno and Conan. Been watching them from the beginning (even when Leno was a guest and then guest host on Carson). I want both of them to stay around but NBC is trying to mess around too much to keep Leno who's a workaholic and will definitely jump if he's out of a job. He's still quite popular and they don't wanna lose him and have essentially made a choice to try to force Conan to quit to lessen their payout.
Letterman has been stale for about 10 years. I used to watch him all the time after Carson and would flip back and forth in the beginning between him and Leno but he really lost the edge that made him the pioneer that he was. Conan has completely replaced him and in many ways, is better than Letterman even in his hayday.

An article trying to explain how both Leno and Conan are getting screwed and how it's really NBC at fault here
