Sine, Seraph: the "new post" issue

I'm getting an orange "new post" marker on stuff that's quite old 'cause I didn't click on that thread. Basically, the orange marker will stay there unless I click on the thread. Is that an easy fix or something that'll take a while?

It didn't do that in the old version? Maybe I'm just used to another forum I read. You can click on the "Mark all topics read" link in the top right.

The old forum only showed new posts since your last visit.

I think once you left the webpage and then came back all the unread posts would be considered read, whether you actually did or not. I didnt notice we even had a 'mark posts as read' button, that definitely solves it for me, thanks. I use this in gmail all the time for things i already read on my phone. I think that was a lab extra that could be added.

Man, where have you been? V2 always worked like that.

Lox is right, as soon as you closed your browser with the old Shrine, the orange markers went away. So the next time I came back, only the ones that are new since my last visit were marked orange. Now I've got stuff in DS and GT that is about 2 weeks old with orange markers. I just want it to be like the way it was

I've got the following options:
View Unread Posts
View New Posts

Stupid question: can't we just make that automatic like it was before? Do we have to click every time?

Honestly, for me it kept the posts unread unless I actually read them. It seems that would be how it works. Just like you don't lose your "unread" status on email unless you actually click on the item.
I glanced at the options and I didn't see anything about it, but I'll look a little closer.

If you go to Daily Stuph, under the links to the different pages is a link that says mark topics read.
If you go to the forum list there is one that says mark forums read.
Super easy, i've been using them since Kupek pointed it out.

Oh, THERE......
Still, why can't it be automatic?

So, I see that SOME people have different coloured names. Is there any way to make everyone's names different colours? Obviously, since I only care about threads that I started, I would like to easily be able to see which ones I started by colour code, as so I don't post in a thread on of you simpletons started and embarrass myself by encouraging you to post more since you think I am interested in whatever you folks blather on about.
