The amount of face-palming this whole embarassing charade is causing is more than I can handle. Rick Perry ought to be punched in the face for appointing all these idiot Jesus freaks to the SBOE who are doing their damndest to make this state an even bigger joke than it already is.*
I know McLeroy was voted out, but his term doesn't expire until next year, I think. I can only hope these bullshiat shenanigans cause the rest of the country to rethink buying whatever textbook Texas demands. I also hope, should all of these changes to the curriculum occur, that universities start rejecting Texas applicants sight unseen based upon the academic standards of the state.
Maybe - just MAYBE - people will then realize the error of voting your goddamn pastor to the school board.

I'm waiting for the day when Texas just gives up and hands everybody school kid a Bible as their only school for 12 years. And the textbook companies just comply because many of them are based in Texas and are too lazy to write different versions.
