Ever since I installed WinXP my CDs keep skipping when I try to play them on my comp. It does it regardless of what player I'm using. Anyone have any idea why?

<div style='font: 10pt verdana; text-align: left; padding: 0% 10% 0% 10%; '>Get Service Pack 1 and all other patches. It probably won't fix anything, but there's a decent chance it will, so it's worth a shot.</div>

<div style='font: 11pt arial; text-align: left; '>Heh. That sentence didn't make any sense, but I'll try it</div>
Hit the Start button. Click on Windows Update. Get all of the important sounding updates. Then see if it fixed your CD problem.

<div style='font: 11pt arial; text-align: left; '>What I meant is that the statement "It probably won't work but there's a decent chance it will" doesn't make sense : )</div>

<div style='font: 10pt ; text-align: left; '>Yeah, make sure you do all the updates after SP1 and Download the Media Player 9 and all its codecs, that should fix, then check cables to make sure, espically that little cable that goes from CDROM to Sound card, if its loose it will do this exactly...i know, I build computers for a living... ;-)</div>
