We can joke about this since the driver is alive right?

That's not the way Darwinism works. Stupid driver actually tried to go into the emergency lane to bypass a cop. I feel no remorse in believing that somebody that does something that stupid and dangerous deserves whatever fate that danger takes him.

And that was not 100mph. More like 120-130mph.

Yeah he's still alive (alert when they took him to the hospital, currently in critical condition) and according to the article they're unsure what the driver was doing. It's possible that something went wrong with his car and passing judgment on what was going on would be a mistake.

This man owes his survival to the life-sustaining powers of meth.

It was a 1985 Thunderbird... some news page refered to it has a "powerful 1985 muscle car"

... 210 Horsepower is not powerful in todays standards.

Depends on how it's being used. The car seems light enough to go flying into the bridge. Besides, you don't need all of your horses to go even 120mph. (Most 400+HP cars can't even go 200mph.)

It doesn't take that much to go that fast. My 150hp Jetta can easily creep up to the 140mph mark.
