He was absent from this year's K-1 WGP Championship tournament (currently underway, the final event is on December 11th where the 8 remaining contenders fight through the quarters, semis, and finals to determine the World Champion), but hopefully he'll be a free man for next years =)

Badr Hari, who back in March was denied entrance into a nightclub based on a dress code violation. Badr Hari, being one known for his temper, proceeded to beat the living shit out of the bouncers leaving one with a broken eye socket and broken nose. He faced assault charges, and was let out early yesterday (he was supposed to remain until December 23rd).

Badr Hari has had an intense rivalry with Alistair Overeem since Overeem KO'd him two years ago. Last year, both Overeem and Hari both found themselves in the KI-1 Championship tournament, Hari stated that Overeem would not last 3 minutes in the ring against him; and indeed Hari TKO'd Overeem at 2:14 of the first round. Hari went on to lose against the 4 time tournament champion, 7 foot tall Semmy Schilt in the final match of the tournament.

Badr Hari has in the past been known for his rage and aggression in the past; in the 2008 K-1 tournament Championship match, Hari knocked down celebrated K-1 Veteran and stomped on his head. Earlier this year, just weeks before his assault charges: when a match against Hesdy Gerges went to the second round, Hari followed up a knockdown with a soccerball kick to the face.

Despite his actions, the heavily aggressive 25 year old Badr Hari remains the most popular of the K-1 fighter, although if Overeem wins the tournament this year, that will quickly change.
